At a very early age, her father introduced her to soul music. The music of Aretha Franklin, Miriam Makeba, Onyeka Owenu, Marvin Gaye, Whitney Houston, Yolanda Adams, Jill Scott, and more recently, Alicia Keys and John Legend has influenced and shaped hers.
While in Jos, she met M.I and Jesse Jagz, who were then both starting out in music. Before long, Loopy Music began, a group of young people interested in making good, sincere music. Together, they began recording and organizing the hugely popular jam sessions in Jos and Abuja.
Ruby's music tells stories of life- of pain, passion, longing and love-about the all the mystery and wonder life is. Her songs reflect the same depth and beauty as those she grew up listening to.
When not making music with her 4-octave range voice, ruby engages in women empowerment: focusing on providing a platform through which female artistes can express themselves (such as her Diva's Unplugged) and highlighting issues which affect women all over.
Ruby is the 5th out of 6th children. She studied Economics at University of Jos.
She is presently working on her self titled debut album.
