My name is Kiki Omolola Akinbohun am 22 yrs old. I am a fashion designer. I own my clothing line called Glam By Kiki, and I’m from Ondo state Nigeria.

How did your brand come about, how long it's been around for.
Officially launched my clothing line on the 29th of October, 2011, but I’ve had this strong passion for fashion in me for as long as I can remember.

Tell us the inspiration behind what you do.
I used to dress up my Barbie dolls when I was young and I always wanted to look different every time we went out for parties and church activities. People use to call me shakara every time I was out with my family. My mum has and is still into textile business, so I have also known about different kinds of fabrics too. Every piece of fabric I come across inspires me, from the patterns to the colours. And the smile and compliments I get when people wear or see my pieces just makes me want to get better.

BLOG BUZZ: 1ST OCTOBER 2011, DESIGNERS MARKETPLACE FAIR IN PICTURES

Designers Market Place 1st October fair was themed to celebrate the 51st independence of Nigeria and was graced with so much fun activities for the young entrepreneurs, designers and buyers alike. There were musical performances, hiphop dance performance and exquisite designers like Wanger Ayu, HeadArt by Pepe, Miss Dee, The Fashion Academy, Duob Apparel, and dEN.MODE showcased some of the newest collections on the runway.

The fair was absolutely beautiful and indulging, not forgetting the the cakes and cocktails ( my personal fave!). below are snippets from the 1st October Event.

However the November DMP is tomorrow, come hang out, have fun, meet people, share ideas and most importantly... BUY!

The collection spells simplicity and ease. its very chic and urban with a delicate twist of ethnicity. There's something about this collection that makes me happy. I don't know about you guys but i definitely can't wait to get me one!

The entire collection will be on display and sold in Abuja this week at a Tea Party to be hosted by Sunny Rose.
