Stage One evolved back in 2008 with 8 band members (I mean c’mon in a rock band???!) with E-Kelly as our Keyboardist. We rehearsed for the fun of it and for shows. The band went through changes of instrumentalists and vocalists. We wrote songs when we rehearsed and it was fun, everyone had something to say and made an input in the working and functioning of the band.

Our first concert as Stage One was at ECWA goodnews church Jos still back in 2008 and it was um…yeah not too good.  We got encouragements from friends and loved ones and from people who believed in us and we still got laughed atL.

In the next couple of months we played at a few shows, we played at Churches, concerts and stuff. We opened for Threadstone’s Rock n Worship back in 2009 with now 4 band members and as time went by we subsequently opened for them at different shows.

We went on a hiatus in 2010 when some of our members were unavailable for different reasons (youth service, school and stuff).  L. We then re-emerged with a brief (really brief) period with Joseph as the Lead vocalist, Yehoshua still on the drums, Femi as the bassist and Kachi as the new Lead guitarist after which the roles swapped a bit with Kachi as the Lead vocalist and Lead guitarist, Joseph as the Bassist, Ose on the Keyboards (another new name huh?!) and Yehoshua still on the drums.

We stayed with this new setup for about 6 months before Ose left for school in Benin. We then played just the 3 of us at gigs and church events and we still rocked (I guess). We played like this for some months and then God blessed us with an awesome awesome Vocalist by name NUHU. We converted him from the Rap/r n b world to the ROCKERS world. Our first concert was the Threadstone album launch and it was awesome. We’ve been rocking that way till date and God has been awesome to us.

What has been your source of inspiration/Motivation?

• Our inspiration and motivation has been God and always will be and when we hear testimonies after playing at shows and gigs it motivates us more and we know that God is really working through our music

Where do you see yourselves in five to ten years? How do you plan to achieve that?

• In 5 to 10 years hmmm…. Firstly, we want to still be together, we want to keep on rocking with God as our main focus; we want to go on tours. We want to be in the places where “Christian” artistes haven’t been, we want to start a movement that will cause visible change in Nigeria and to give a platform to more youths to achieve their own Nigerian dream and we want to be marriedJ.

How has your family and friends taken/accepted your choice of career?

• Our family and friends have shown us an enormous amount of support. They’ve been very cool with it.

Who are your favourite icons in your field/genre?

• Our icons are: Threadstone um… Hillsong. Red, Fireflights, Fly Leaf. Threadstone paved the way for us. (Rock)

What message do you hope to send across to people and those aspiring in the same field?

• For those as who want to aspire in this field as we still are, its not easy oh but man, don’t do it for the money because then you fail.

What is your philosophy to life?

• Our philosophy to life is Matthew 6:33. (Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things will be added to you). We have chosen to seek God first before anything because He is the source of our existence.

Whats your style?

• Our style is Rock

Asides this do you have any other hidden talent?

• Any hidden talent? Um…Nuhu: (electrician things) and music production, Yehoshua: cooks, Kachi: production and Joseph: Counseling, Apart from the music, I guess school, studio and church
