Open from FRIDAY 5TH - THURSDAY 11th AUGUST (10AM – 8PM DAILY), the space will be transformed into a contemporary store for bohemian connoisseurs and chic shoppers and will feature a series of events dedicated to showcasing Republic Of Foreigner’s Resort 2012 Collection as well as past season’s must-have looks.

FRESH MUSIC: ALCOHOL - EGO
Coming off the Questionmark Entertainment label, Jennifer Nwakaego Oduah – stage name Ego – is about to take her relatively lengthy career (considering her age) in the entertainment sector to another level. Born in Benin City in 1986, Ego kicked off her musical odyssey when she was six, singing at Christmas carols at her catholic primary school, Regina Mundi, Asaba, Delta state, where she’s from.
This though, is not the only activity that has prepared the Afro-pop crooner for her present occupation. An alumnus of the Lagos Model College, Ego – which means money in Ibo - spent time pursuing a career in pageantry, contesting in competitions like the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) and modelling for fashion outfits Zizi Cardow and Modella, while singing and miming at gigs.
These extra-curricular activities however took a back stage to her academic pursuits as she enrolled at the University of Lagos for a course in – not surprisingly – the Creative Arts. Her course encompasses music, theatre arts and visuals amongst other things.
A go-getter who inputs all her energy to achieve her targets, the light-skinned Ego has decided to follow her initial dreams of attaining stardom using music as her medium. Her first single, "Omalicha Nwa" translates to a beautiful child. The single, which features an appearance from fellow label mate Harrisong, has drawn favourable comments from industry watchers, thus encouraging Ego and the Questionmark label to speed up work on her forthcoming album.
Admitting that she loves cameras, Ego’s list of musical inspirations include namesake Jennifer Lopez, and Toni Braxton. Little wonder then, that she plans to be the best while also preaching love and motivating people with
her music.
Drawing from her experiences in modelling and fashion, and armed with a degree in the Creative Arts, the odds of Ego making it big in the Nigerian entertainment scene are short; especially when you consider an industry behemoth in the guise of Questionmark being the label behind her.
FRESH MUSIC: PROBLEM AWAY - SHAYNE ft lindsey
Yesterday, Monday, 1st August, 2011, Shayne’s self-produced debut hit single,"Problems Away" hits the airwaves. The song which features Loopey Records diva Lindsey, showcases two unique sides ofShayne - Shayne the Music Producer and Shayne the Rapper. The song is one of several hit singles scheduled for release off his forthcoming debut album – "B11nary." At the age of 15, Shayne’s wordplay has been compared to the likes of rap superstars, MI Abaga and the legendary Mode 9. In his rap, Shayne attempts a dexterous use of hip-hop folklore to convey his youthful experiences – facing tough decisions, making hard choices, the temptations that come with the age of puberty and the everyday street challenges of a Lagos boy.
Without doubt, Shayne’s unique combination of music production, rapping, singing and song-writing at this tender age has set him on the pathway of early stardom. With the right mentorship by the older generation of super stars, he can become one of Nigeria’s biggest musical exports to the world. BLOG NEWS: DIPP Set To Release Debut Album August 2011
Nigerian Pop singer, DIPP is finally set to release his much anticipated debut album FUTURE IS NOW in August, 2011. The album which he has been working on since 2006 will be released on Effyzzie Records.
The album contains 16 tracks [3 bonus cuts inclusive] and features artistes such as Waje, Da Grin, M.I, Yemi Alade, YQ, Mode 9, Maytronomy, Beazy, Ill Bliss, Kel, Blaise, Muna, Gino and others. Current mainstream sensation Wizkid and upcoming artiste Lady Aku also contributed to the album.
Producers on the album include Sossick, Kraft, E Kelly and TK. Future Is Now features hit tracks like Dangerous, Pop Off Selecta, Good Girls and Which Is The Way. Other hot tracks include I Do, Jeje Remix, and Follow Me Go among several others.
"Finally the album has arrived. I would like to thank all my fans for being patient with me for so long. There were moments for me when the journey was tough but their love and words of encouragement kept me going. Future Is Now is a labour of love that I dedicate to my fans which are known as Team Amazing and basically lovers as well as supporters of good music" says DIPP.
"This album will stand the test of time. 5 years down the road, 10 years down the road, Future Is Now will still be regarded as a phenomenal album. I want to make a statement that good music can sell in this country and my album is my statement" further adds DIPP.
DIPP who is the flagship artiste on Effyzzie Records shot into limelight in 2008 when he released his genre-bending hit song Dangerous featuring M.I. Due to the innovative special-effects and ground breaking dance sequences in the video Dangerous won the Best Special Effects and Editing award at the Sound City Music Awards in 2009. In 2010 DIPP upped the ante by releasing the high octane dance track Pop off Selecta. The video within the space of 8 weeks peaked at the number one spot on major video charts nationwide. Pop Off Selecta grabbed two awards at the NMVA 2010 - Best Use of Special Effects and Best Choreography.
This month DIPP released the video to his third major single Kosorombe featuring Da Grin. The video which was directed by DIPP's long time collaborator MEX has been adjudged DIPP’s best video by industry tastemakers and is gradually easing its way up the charts; both radio and TV.
The pop singer is getting set to shoot his fourth major video Good Girls Remix featuring YQ, Blaise, Kel and Muna. The all-star vid will be directed by Nigeria's most hard working music video director, Clarence Peters.
According to the CEO of the record label, Taiye Aliyu, DIPP's debut album is worth the wait. "We are happy to bring out a body of work as monumental as this. The album is going to hit the core of the Nigerian industry and revolutionize the way an album should sound. This is not an album that we are going to release and forget about in the next 6 months. After the album drops we are going to work our bones off to ensure that the message DIPP wants to pass across to his fans and target audience is accurately delivered."
After dropping his album, DIPP will embark on a club tour nationwide which will end with a climatic grand concert at Eko Hotel in November. Also DIPP is getting ready to star in a dance movie in 2012. The script of the yet untitled dance movie is in the development stage and is a collaborative movie production between Major Boy’s Premonition Pictures and Aliyu Taiye's Effyzzie Entertainment.
