Laolu Senbanjo was born in the early 80's into the family of Mr Olukayode and Mrs Adebola Senbanjo. He attended the University of Ilorin primary and secondary schools and then proceeded to study law at the University of Ilorin where he obtained his LLb. While studying law, Laolu was actively involved in music and afro-mysteric arts. After being called to the Nigerian bar, he has aggressively pursued his career as an artist. The uniqueness of his works has endeared him to many. You can see this for yourself as you browse through this gallery. He has been part of various art exhibitions (British Council WAPI 2008, Art Pyramid Exhibitions at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja Nigeria, etc).
He also held his own private art exhibition in Lagos titled”the narratives of a busy mind" in 2009 at the Elephant House Ikeja Lagos, Nigeria.
“My style of art is called "afro-mysterics" it simply means the mystery of the African thought pattern. These masterpieces are full of meaning and deep thinking. My art is spiritual. Nothing in life happens by accident. Art is what you call it. Life is what you make it. Every symbol has a meaning. Every face has an expression. The different patterns tell their own stories. Welcome to my world!”
